Warranties - what you need to know

Warranties - what you need to know

Shopping for fine jewellery can be daunting - how do you know if you’re buying good quality jewellery?

Always make sure you ask the following questions:

Question:

With regards to certificates and the warranty, are there different types? What do the ones that you issue entail?

Answer:

We proudly offer a lifetime warranty on the moissanite stone itself against chipping and colour changes, which should never happen under normal wear. It does not, however, replace your actual ring's insurance, which you need to take out with your short term insurer. They will cover you against theft and loss of the ring itself. We can help you with a valuation certificate every two years.

We also have a 2 year Craftsmanship Warranty for the ring, meaning the ring itself should not break or bend as a result of manufacturing faults. If something happens within the first 2 years and it's our mistake (such as a prong loosening up), we will repair it for you free of charge.

Question:

What do you mean “normal wear”?

Answer:

As with any and all fine jewellery, i.e. jewellery made with precious metals (gold, silver, platinum) and precious gems (moissanites, diamonds, rubies etc) you must take care when wearing it, because it is still fine jewellery at the end of the day.  If you take it to a blow torch or bang it against a barbell in the gym, we can't cover you for that because that doesn't count as normal wear.

Never gym, swim and sleep with fine jewellery on, because it can slip off, get knocked by hard things which can bend or chip or damage it, or prongs can hook on hair or linen and bend. That goes for any fine jewellery, no matter who you buy from.

We will send you a card with care instructions with your purchase.

To date we have a zero return or claim rate on all our moissanite 🙂
